Laura Lee Smith Butler, Cumberland Co., KY (1943-2016) She was a highly respected community leader. She was a member of Burkesville First United Methodist Church. She received her bachelors degree and masters degree from Western Kentucky University and received her Ph.D in dietetics and nutrition from University of Tennessee Knoxville. After several years as a dietitian she became involved in the management of Smith Pharmacy, Inc. until 2008. She was a former member of the Cumberland County Library Board, and the Cumberland County Womens Club. She was the daughter of the late Randolph Nunnelly Smith & Winton Simpson Smith. Her husband, Doug Butler survives. She leaves six direct living descendants. She died Monday, December 19, 2016, in Burkesville, Cumberland County, KY, at the age of 73 years, five months, and seven days. She was a member of Burkesville First United Methodist Church. Laura Lee received her bachelors degree and masters degree from Western Kentucky University and received her Ph.D in dietetics and nutrition from University of Tennessee Knoxville. After several years as a dietitian she became involved in the management of Smith Pharmacy, Inc. until 2008.
