Human remains found in Adair County, KY ID found with remains, but authorities are awaiting release of positive identification from the Medical examiner's office. Det. Brian Gibson is investigating. Gregory, Public Information Officer KSP Post 15, Columbia, KY COLUMBIA, KY - (Mon 19 Dec 2016) - Post 15 was notified today at approximately 10amCT, by Adair County dispatch, that human remains had been discovered off of the southbound shoulder of KY 55 at the intersection of KY 55 north and the Columbia by-pass. Adair County dispatch was notified by a local business man that while recovering business road signs, he noticed the remains. The Adair County Sheriff's department and EMS responded to the area, verified the information and contacted KSP. The human remains of a male were recovered by the Adair County Coroner and relayed to the State Medical Examiner's office in Louisville where an autopsy will be performed on Tuesday. Identification was found with the remains, but the release of the identity is pending the positive identification from the Medical Examiner's office. Detective Brian Gibson is investigating.
