Dallas Edward (Billy) Richards, 79, Adair Co., KY (1937-2016)

He was an outstanding citizen of Adair County, KY who made many friends along his way with his warm, sincere manner. He was the son of the late Dallas Abraham and Mary Jane Harmon Richards. His wife, Mary Ann Floyd Richards, survives. He leaves one direct living descendant, Vickie Richards of Columbia, KY. He was a retired plumber and a former employee with the Columbia Utilities Department.

Dallas Edward "Billy" Richards age 79 of Columbia, KY died Thursday, December 16, 2016, at 1:43pmCT, at T.J. Samson Hospital, Glasgow, KY.

Funeral service will be at 2pmCT, Sunday, December 18, 2016 at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, Bro. Jody Perkins the officiating clergy. Interment will be in Adair County at Freedom Cemetery, 515 Freedom Church Road, Russell Springs, KY.



Dallas Edward (Billy) Richards, 79, Adair County, KY (1937-2016)


He was born September 10, 1937 in Adair County, KY. He was the son of the late Dallas Abraham & Mary Jane Harmon Richards. He died In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Delmas "Ted" Richards; and three sisters, Mary Helen Costello, Lucille Morgan, and Marquerite Arnold.

He is survived by his wife Mary Ann Floyd Richards of Columbia, KY, and the following:
  • One daughter: Vickie Richards of Columbia, KY

  • Two brothers: Donald Richards and his wife Debbie of Elizabethtown, KY; and Dwight Richards of Aurora, IL

  • Three sisters: Sarah Ann Cook of Louisville, KY, Loretta Fay Young and her husband William of Columbia, KY; and Sheila Jacqueline Clayburn and her husband Michael of Lexington, KY

  • Several nieces, nephews

  • A host of other family and friends
He was a retired plumber and a former employee with the Columbia Utilities Department.
