Ansel Lee Roy, 91, Russell Co., KY/Pulaski native (1925-2016)

He was a great man. He operated Roy's TV & Repair for many years, where he built a legendary reputation over many counties of South Central Kentucky for his technical knowledge, fairness, character. He was a Veteran of US Army having served in WWII and the Korea War. He was a bronze star recipient.

Ansel Lee Roy, 91, of Russell Springs, died Sunday, December 11, 2016 at the Russell County Hospital, Russell Springs, KY.

The funeral service for Ansel Lee Roy will be at 11:30amCT, Thursday, December 15, 2016 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Berlon Roy & Bro. Paul Roy officiating. Visitation will be 5pm-8pmCT, Wednesday and after 8amCT, Thursday. Interment will be in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens, 4790 W Highway 80, Somerset, KY.



Pallbearers: Michael Ford, Chris Ford, Patrick Ford, Andy Thomas, Allen Redmon, Benjamin Roy.

Ansel Lee Roy, 91, Russell Co., KY/Pulaski native (1925-2016)

He was born September 9, 1925 in Pulaski County, KY. He was the son of the late Leo & Rosalie Scales Roy. He died Sunday, December 11, 2016 in Russell Springs, Russell County, KY, at the age of 91 years, three months, and two days.

He operated Roy's TV & Repair for many years.

He was a Veteran of US Army having served in WWII and the Korea War. He was a bronze star recipient.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ilene Robertson Roy; two brothers, Garlin Roy, and Ernest G. Roy and a sister, Gertrude Gosser. Survivors:
  • Two children: Rosanna (Ronnie) Ford, and Douglas (Karen) Roy, both of Russell Springs, KY

  • Ten grandchildren

  • Thirteen great grandchildren

  • Two sisters: Susanna Burkett and Evonna Withers, both of Russell Springs, KY

  • Two brothers: Vernon Roy, Tuscan, AZ; and Berlon Roy, Glasgow, KY

  • Special caregiver: Wanda Lawless
