Leon Grider, 80, Russell Springs, KY (1936-2016)

He was a member of a distinguished family with deep family roots in Russell and his native Adair Counties. He was the son of the late Loren & Ruby Conover Grider. His wife, Anna Mae Grider, survives. He leaves six direct living descendants. He was a Pharmacist who started his career at Hopper Drug in the 1960s. He was a member of Russell Springs Christian Church. He was a Veteran of US Air Force.

Leon Grider, 80, of Russell Springs, KY, died Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at the Russell County Hospital, Russell Springs, KY.

Funeral service for Leon Grider will be 10amCT, Friday, December 9, 2016 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Carroll Egnew officiating. Visitation will be 5pm-8pmCT, Thursday, December 8, 2016, and after 8amCT, on Friday. Interment will be in the Conover Cemetery, 323 Conover Cemetery Road, Russell Springs, KY.


Active Pallbearers: Jonathan Grider, Zachary Grider, Eric Grider Greg Grider, Donnie Wilkerson, and Kermit Grider Honorary Pallbearer: Jason Grider

Leon Grider, 80, Russell Springs, KY (1936-2016)

He was born March 26, 1936 in Adair County to the late Loren & Ruby Conover Grider. He died Tuesday, December 6, 2016, in Russell Springs, Russell County, KY, at the age of 80 years, eight months, and 10 days.

He was a Pharmacist and a member of Russell Springs Christian Church. He was a Veteran of US Air Force.

Survivors follow:
  • His wife: Anna Mae Grider, Russell Springs, KY

  • Two sons: Greg (Deneda) Grider, Russell Springs, KY; and Eric (Patty) Grider, also of Russell Springs

  • Four grandchildren: Jason Grider, Jonathan Grider Zachary Grider, and Taylor Grider

  • Sister: Hester Blankenship, Russell Springs, KY

  • Brother: Kermit (Hilda) Grider, Columbia, KY
