Mrs. Vina Jewell Radford Davis, 83, Burkesville, KY (1933-2016)

She was a member of Smith Grove United Methodist Church, served on the Farm Bureau Board of Directors, and was a homemaker. She was a member of a leading Cumberland County family. She was the daughter of the late Murson and Vina Cooksey Radford and the widow of Eliver Davis. She leaves six direct living descendants.

Mrs. Vina Jewell Radford Davis of Burkesville, KY, passed away Sunday, December 4, 2016 at The Cumberland Valley Manor in Burkesville, KY.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at 1pmCT, in The Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home, 601 N Main Street, Burkesville, KY. Burial will be in the Burkesville Cemetery in Burkesville, KY. The family will receive friends after 5pmCT on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 until the funeral hour on Wednesday.



Mrs. Vina Jewell Radford Davis, 83, Burkesville, KY (1933-2016)


She was born in the Howards Bottom Community of Cumberland County, KY, on Wednesday, May 10, 1933, the daughter of Murson and Vina Cooksey Radford. She died Sunday, December 4, 2016, in Burkesville, Cumberland County, KY, at the age of 83 years, six months, and 24 days.

She was a member of Smith Grove United Methodist Church, served on the Farm Bureau Board of Directors, and was a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elver Davis; her sons, Don Davis, Doug Davis; her brothers, Windell Radford, Allen Radford; her sister, Geneva Teal; and special brother-in-law, Hayden Davis.

She is survived by:
  • Her son and daughter-in-law: Daryl and Jimmie Carolyn Davis of London, KY

  • Her sister, Anna Kate Thomas of Brandenburg, KY

  • Her daughters-in-law: Ricki Sharon Thomas Davis of Burkesville, KY; and Kathy Garner Davis of Somerset, KY

  • Her grandchildren: Karissa (and Andrew) Cooper, Kami (and Daniel) Hicks, Melanie (and Aaron) Minga

  • Her great-grandchildren: Kamryn LeeAnn Cooper, and Ann Douglas Hicks

  • And special friend: Hill Myers
