She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Brethern Faith. She was a retired secretary. She was a native of Washington County, MD, and a resident of Green County, KY at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late Paul and Sarah Bartles Stottlemyer, and the widow of Fred Burton Williar.

Dorothy Williar, 89, departed this life Friday, November 18, 2016 at her home in Green County, KY.

Funeral Services and burial will be in Hagerstown, Maryland. There will be no local, Green County, KY. services. Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home is in charge of the local arrangements.



Dorothy Williar, 89, Green County, KY (1927-2016)


Dorothy Williar was born November 4, 1927 in Hagerstown, Washington County, MD. She was the daughter of the late Paul and Sarah Bartles Stottlemyer. She departed this life Friday, November 18, 2016 at her home in Green County, Kentucky, having attained the age of 89 years and 14 days.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Brethern Faith. She was a retired secretary.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Fred Burton Williar and two brothers: Paul Clinton Stottlemyer and Robert Arnold Stottlemyer.

She is survived by the following:
  • Four daughters: Cindy Williar of Greensburg, KY; and Darlene Shoemaker, Fred Williar, Jr., and Brenda Clinton

  • Two sisters and one brother: Mary Catherine Cameron of Mussell Shoals, AL; Betty Jane Witmer of Green Castle, PA, and Roger Stottlemyer of Hagerstown, MA

  • Five grandchildren

  • Several great grandchildren.
