Ira E. Wilson, 86, Russell County, KY (1930-2016)

Mr. Wilson owned and operated Wilson Construction, in Greenfield, IN, for over 30 years. He was a Footing/Foundation expert who provided new custom home foundations. He was joined in the business by his son, Ivan in the early 1980s. He enjoyed being with his family, working, hunting, fishing, and helping raise his grandchildren. He was the son of the late Iva E. Wilson and Elsie Marie (Chumbley) Wilson and the widower of Meredith Wilson. He leaves eight direct living descendants.

Ira E. Wilson, age 86, of Greenfield, Indiana, formerly of Pulaski County, passed away Saturday, November 19, 2016.

Funeral service will be at 1pmCT, on Wednesday November 23, 2016 at Wilson Funeral Home, 391 E. Steve Wariner Dr., Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Garlin Wilson officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 23, 2016, from 10amCT until 1pmCT, at Wilson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, in Russell Springs, KY.

He was joined in marriage to Meredith (Wilson) on June 27, 1951.

Mr. Wilson owned and operated Wilson Construction, in Greenfield, IN, for over 30 years. He was a Footing/Foundation expert who provided new custom home foundations. He was joined in the business by his son, Ivan in the early 1980s. He enjoyed being with his family, working, hunting, fishing, and helping raise his grandchildren.

He is survived by the following:
  • His daughters: Judy (Peter) Kubacki, of Michigan and Jennifer Wright, of Greenfield, IN

  • Brothers: Ezra Wilson, Gary Wilson, and Dennis Wilson, all of Russell Springs, KY

  • Sister: Wilma Wilusz, of Ohio

  • Daughter-in-law: Tammy

  • Grandchildren: Janell, Sarah, Ivan Eric (Jordan), Travis, and Jake

  • Great grandchildren: Peyton and Alexis
He was preceded in death by his wife, Meredith Wilson; son, Ivan E. Wilson; parents, Iva and Elsie Wilson; and brother, Joe Wilson.
