Adair Co. Grand Jury returns indictments 15 Nov 2016

Charges brought against seven individuals, from Columbia and Dunnville, KY and Townsend, TN. Charges include possession, theft, assault, wanton endangerment, burglary and cultivation of marijuana.

NOTE: Indictments are considered formal charges. An indictment is not a finding of guilt. An individual charged by indictment is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at some later criminal proceeding.

The Adair County, KY Circuit Court grand jury, Columbia, KY, returned indictments against the following individuals on Tuesday, 15 November 2016:


  • Brandon Luttrell (04/19/1983), Thomas Ridge Rd., Dunnville, KY Indictment No. 16-CR-00164. Charged with 4 counts. Count 1 - Possession of marijuana (firearm enhanced). Count 2 - Marijuana cultivation (more than 5 plants, firearm enhanced). Count 3 - Manufacture of methamphetamine, 2nd offense (firearm enhanced). Count 4 - Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon (firearm enahnced). Bail set at $50,000 cash. Arraignment 12/13/2016 at 1pmCT.

  • Patrick Tyler Stapleton (07/28/1997), Magnolia Dr., Columbia, KY Indictment No. 16-CR-00165. Charged with 1 count. Count 1 - Theft by unlawful taking over $500 but under $10,000. Bail set at $5,000 c/p. Arraignment 12/13/2016 at 1pmCT.

  • Joshua Witt (11/13/1987), Creekbend Rd., Columbia, KY Indictment No. 16-CR-00166. Charged with 4 counts. Count 1 - Possession of a controlled substance, 1st degree, 1st offense (cocaine). Count 2 - Drug paraphernalia buy/possess. Count 3 - Resisting arrest. Count 4 - Menacing. Arraignment 12/13/2016 at 1pmCT.

  • Jonathon Bryant (05/31/1983), Vester Rd., Columbia, KY Indictment No. 16-CR-00167. Charged with 5 counts. Count 1 - Assault, 1st degree. Count 2 - Wanton endangerment, 1st degree. Count 3 - Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Count 4 - Possession of marijuana. Count 5 - Drug paraphernalia buy/possess. Bail set at $200,000 cash. Arraignment 12/13/2016 at 1pmCT.

  • Leslie A. Morris (04/09/1978), Magnolia Dr., Columbia, KY Indictment No. 16-CR-00168. Charged with 1 count. Count 1 - Theft by unlawful taking over $500 but under $10,000. Bail set at $5,000 c/p. Arraignment 12/13/2016 at 1pmCT.

  • Dennis R. Dickens (11/12/1972), E. Lamar Alexander Pky., Townsend, TN Indictment No. 16-CR-00169. Charged with 1 count. Count 1 - Theft by deception. Bail set at $2,000/10%. Arraignment 12/13/2016 at 1pmCT.

  • James Allen Melson (05/18/1981), Tutt St., Columbia, KY Indictment No. 16-CR-00170. Charged with 4 counts. Count 1 - Burglary, 3rd degree. Count 2 - Possession of controlled substance, 1st degree, 1st offense, methamphetamine. Count 3 - Theft by unlawful taking or disposition, $500 or more but less than $10,000. Count 4 - Criminal mischief, 3rd degree. Bail set at $5,000 cash. Arraignment 12/13/2016 at 1pmCT.
