First ever soccer match at Blue Raider Stadium, Sat 19 Nov 2016

COLUMBIA, KY - The Lindsey Wilson women's soccer team is the No. 2 seed and hosts Point Park (PA) in the NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship Opening Round as the national office announced the championship field and pairings on Monday, November 14, 2016.



Lindsey Wilson (15-3-0) received an automatic bid into the championship field after winning the Mid-South Conference Tournament with a 2-1 victory over Cumberland (Tenn.) on Friday in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

The Blue Raiders are making their 18th all-time appearance in the national tournament and hold an all-time record of 40-14-2.

Point Park (10-7-2) received an automatic bid into the field of 31 after winning the River States Conference Tournament with a 2-0 victory over Ohio Christian.

The Pioneers are making just their second all-time appearance at the championships.

Lindsey Wilson and Point Park also faced off against one another in the 2015 NAIA Opening Round with the Blue Raiders winning 5-0 in Columbia.

The winner advances to the final site in Orange Beach, Alabama and faces the winner of Kansas Wesleyan and Columbia (MO) in the Second Round on 29 Nov 2016, at Orange Beach Sportsplex, 4389 Pub Works Road, Orange Beach, AL
