Dale Alfred Napper, 74, Adair County, KY (1942-2016)

He was retired from Rockwell and DuPont, formerly owned an auto parts store in Mt. Sterling, was owner, promoter and avid fan of late model dirt track racing. He was a member of Corinth Baptist Church, a Mason and KY Colonel. He was a native of Vinton County, Ohio, and a resident of Adair County, KY, at the time of his death.

Dale Alfred Napper, 74, of Columbia, KY, died Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at his home, surrounded by family and friends.

Funeral service wil Saturday, Nov. 12, 2016 at 1pmCT/2pmET, at Scobee Funeral Home, 219 W Lexington Avenue, Winchester, KY, with burial in Clarmont Memorial Gardens in Clark County, KY. Visitation on 5pm-8pmCT/6pm-9pmET, Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, and 5pm-7pmCT/6pm-8pmET, Friday, November 11, 2016 at Scobee Funeral Home in Winchester.



Dale Alfred Napper, 74, Adair County, KY (1942-2016)


He was born March 9, 1942, in Hamdon, Vinton County, Ohio. He was the son of the late Gartie and Stella Honaker Napper. He died Tuesday, November 8, 2016, at the age of 74 years, seven months, and 30 days.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife of 44 years, Wilma Napper.

He was retired from Rockwell and DuPont, formerly owned an auto parts store in Mt. Sterling, was owner, promoter and avid fan of late model dirt track racing. He was a member of Corinth Baptist Church, a Mason and KY Colonel.

Survivors include:

  • His wife of nine years: Brenda McMahan Speer Napper of Columbia, KY

  • One son: Jeff (Sherry) Napper of Winchester, KY

  • Three step-sons: James David Speer,II of Cane Valley, KY; Mark Allen (Latrica) Speer of Campbellsville, KY; and John Daniel (Tonya) Speer of Columbia, KY

  • One step-daughter: Sarah Jane Speer Humphress (Keith) of Campbellsville, KY

  • One granddaughter and two great-grandchildren: Ericka Napper, Shelby Sturgill, Jackson Mills all of Lancaster, KY

  • Eight step-grandchildren

  • Three step great-grandchildren

  • One brother: John (Sharon) Napper of Jacksonville, NC
  • >
  • Two sisters: Loretta (Joe) McCarty of Raymond, OH; and Nancy Clemente of Lake City, FL

  • A sister-in-law: Gale (Jim) Swafford of Winchester

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
