He was a member of a large, highly respected family. He was the son of the late Delmar Lee & Arleter Jane Burton, and the widower of Sheila Ann Clements Burton. He leaves a great family, numbering 34 direct living descendants. He was a farmer and a warm, witty entertainer - the "Mayor of Burton Ridge," he would tell welcome visitors to his distinctive home at the top of the Narrows on KY 206, where he had fashioned his own one-of-a-kind paradise on earth.
