LWC volleyball defeats Cumberlands 3-0 Next - Senior Night. Lindsey Wilson hosts Pikeville at 6:30pmCT, Thu 03 Nov 2016, at Biggers Sports Center, 360 Spickard Drive, Columbia, KY. By Anthony Latessa COLUMBIA, KY (Wed 2 Nov 2016) - The No. 4-ranked Lindsey Wilson Volleyball team defeated Cumberlands (KY) in three sets on Tuesday night winning 25-14, 25-17 and 25-17 at Biggers Sports Center. Elly Burke led the Blue Raiders (27-1, 12-1 MSC) in kills with 12. Eileen Acuna recorded 11 kills and 13 digs for her seventh double-double on the season. Two other Blue Raiders recorded double digit digs led by Caitlyn Tino and Burke who each recorded 13. Makenzie Montano had a match-high 40 assists. Lindsey Wilson held the Patriots (20-8, 8-5 MSC) to a .091 hitting percentage in the first set. Lauren Streets had four kills and six digs in the set and Burke also had four kills. Montano had 13 assists in the first set. After trailing in the second set 17-13 the Blue Raiders scored 12 of the next 13 points to win the set. Lindsey Wilson hit .371 in the set and held Cumberlands to a .047 hitting percentage. The Blue Raiders jumped out to an 8-0 lead in the third set and had scored 20 of the last 21 points in the match. Lindsey Wilson hit .326 in the set and Acuna led the way with seven kills in the set. With the victory the Blue Raiders clinch a share of the MSC and can clinch it outright with a victory Thursday against Pikeville (KY) Next - Senior Night.
