Revanales leads men's soccer to 9-0 victory over Shawnee State

The No. 17-ranked Lindsey Wilson soccer team defeated Shawnee State (Ohio) 9-0 Saturday night at Walter S. Reuling Stadium in Columbia, in front of a crowd of 143.

Andrew Revanales had an 11-point game, scoring four goals and collecting three assists for the Blue Raiders (10-4-1, 6-0-1 Mid-South Conference). Aleksi Pahkasalo, Franck Bikoya, Mutaya Mwape and Israel Reyna also scored goals for Lindsey Wilson. The Blue Raiders did not allow the Bears (5-11-1, 2-4-1 MSC) to register a shot.



Revanales struck first for the Blue Raiders in the 27th minute. Revanales received a pass from Pahkasalo and was able to beat the goalkeeper. Revanales scored again in the 28th minute. Moustapha Fofana fired the ball into the box to Revanales who was able to head it into the net.

Pahkasalo picked up his second assist of the night on a Mutaya Mwape goal in the 37th minute. Pahkasalo delivered the ball to Mwape on a quick touch pass and Mwape was able to slip it past the sliding Shawnee State goalkeeper.

Pahkasalo scored the first of six Lindsey Wilson second half goals in the 49th minute with Revanales picking up the assist. Revanales, Reyna and Bikoya all chipped in goals in the second half.

With the victory the Blue Raiders share the Mid-South Conference regular season championship with Campbellsville (Ky.). This is the 12th conference championship and first since 2013.Lindsey Wilson can get the number one seed in the MSC tournament based on conference tiebreakers with a victory over Midway (Ky.) Tuesday night.
