LWC Men's Golf closes fall with win at RedHawk Fall Classic

Fall portion of LWC Men's Golf concluded

ATHENS, AL (25 Oct 2016) - Lindsey Wilson men's golf battled back from a tough start to win the RedHawk Fall Classic by 10 strokes today at Canebrake Golf Club.

The No. 23-ranked Blue Raiders played the first five holes 7-over par as a team on the par-72, 6,927-yard course. Lindsey Wilson rebounded to close the final round with a team-total 3-under par 285. The Blue Raiders finished the two-day event as the only team under par at 4-under 572 (287-285).



Free-Hardeman (TN) finished second with a 582 (289-293) while host Martin Methodist (TN) posted a 584 (294-290) to end in third place in the 10-team tournament.

A pair of Blue Raiders shot under par today and another posted an even-par 72.

Rasmus Broholt Lind carded a 5-under par 67 today while Federico Navarro shot a 2-under par 70 to lead Lindsey Wilson to its fourth sub-par team score of the season.

Lind posted a two-day total 137 (70-67) to finish tied for second -- one shot behind the winning score shot by Union's (Tenn.) Jordan Botwinick's 136 (71-65). Navarro produced a fifth-place finish with back-to-back 70s for a tournament-total 140.

Ryan Nowe climbed six spots on the leaderboard today with an even-par 72. He finished in eighth place with a 146 (74-72). Alex Durham tied for 14th at 149 (73-76) while Steven McGowan moved up to a tie for 36th at 159 (82-77).

The win -- the second this fall for the Blue Raiders -- concludes the fall portion of the Lindsey Wilson schedule.
