CHS Beta members win awards

Campbellsville High School Beta Club members brought home several awards on Thursday, Oct. 20, at the annual Central Kentucky Beta Invitational.

Campbellsville University hosted the invitational, which features competitions in talent, service, math, English, social studies, science and agriculture, speech, poetry and Spanish and advertising design.


CHS students won the following awards:
  • Senior Laura Lamb won first place in photography.

  • Murphy Lamb, also a senior, won first place in science.

  • In the agriculture category, sophomore Jackson Hinton finished second and junior Connor Wilson was third.

  • Bryce Richardson, a junior, was second in poetry.

  • Zack Settle, a senior, was third in social studies.

  • Missy Vanorder, Sara Farmer, Alex Doss and Madison Dial, all juniors at CHS, received second place in the advertising category.

  • And Blair Lamb, Murphy Lamb and Laura Lamb, seniors, received third place in the talent competition.

With the wins, the students will have the opportunity to compete at the state Beta convention, which will be on Jan. 22-24 in Lexington.

CHS students who competed in the invitational include freshmen Lauryn Agathen, Gavin Johnson, Katelyn Miller, Haleigh Murphy and Bailey Smith; sophomores Brandon Greer, Jeremiah Jackson and Jackson Hinton; juniors Chanson Atkinson, Caitlin Bright, Madison Dial, Alex Doss, Sara Farmer, Wyatt Houk, Bryce Richardson, Missy Vanorder, Ryan Wiedewitsch, Connor Wilson, Darius Wright and Kayla Young; and seniors Vera Brown, Blair Lamb, Murphy Lamb, Laura Lamb, Caroline McMahan, Zack Settle and Ricky Smith-Cecil.

Valerie Davis, Lindsay Williams and Ashley Penick are the CHS Beta sponsors.
