LWC Athletics Auction scheduled for Saturday night By Chris Wells For the 30th consecutive year, the Lindsey Wilson College athletic department is set to host its annual athletic auction. The 2016 LWC Athletic Auction is scheduled for 6pmCT on Saturday, October 22, at the Roberta D. Cranmer Dining & Conference Center, 430 Helen Flatt Dr., Columbia. The athletics auction's purpose is to raise funds to benefit the student-athletes currently involved in 32 varsity, junior varsity and club sports at Lindsey Wilson. "We always enjoy this event," Lindsey Wilson athletics director Willis Pooler said. "There are so many friendly faces in the room that love Lindsey Wilson College and support the work of our student-athletes. Throw in a little competitiveness of bidding and it's simply a great night. "We invite our friends from the Adair County-Columbia area and beyond to join us for a great cause -- raising money to benefit our athletics programs. It's a win-win." University of Kentucky men's basketball tickets, vacation packages, golf outings and LWC apparel are just a few of the items that are featured in this year's auction. The evening begins with a silent auction followed by a gourmet dinner prepared by the Cranmer Dining Center staff. The evening concludes with the live auction. Tickets for the Lindsey Wilson Athletics Auction are $15 per person or $25 per couple. For more information contact the Lindsey Wilson Athletic Department at (270) 384-8070.
