State ABC issues 3 Malt Beverage licenses in Cumberland Co.

Three locations, one in Burkesville, one near Clinton County line, and third near Dale Hollow Lake receive first ABC Licenses since county voted to end eight decades of prohibition on June 28, 2016

Three NQ Retail Malt Beverage Package License were issued on Friday, October 14, 2016 to three outlets in Cumberland County, KY, bringing the total of ABC licenses in Cumberland County to four. Up the Creek Winery, had been issued a license earlier not subject to local option.



The licenses are the first issued in Cumberland County since the county voted to allow the sale of alcoholic beverages on 28 June 2016. (Cumberland Co. Wet/Dry Vote 28 Jun 2016 precinct totals) by a vote of 1441-1062. The three outlets receiving the NQ Malt Beveage licenses are:
  • Sissy's Smoke Shop, 230 N Main Street, Burkesville, KY. Owned by Shambhu LLC, Partners Dahyabhai Patel and Zelma Jain.
  • Page's Dale Hollow Market, 932 Norris Branch Road, Burkesville, KY. Owned by David Page
  • Page Store, 8651 Albany Road, Burkesville, KY. owned by David Page.
The effective date of the licenses is October 14, 2016, but the start of sales has not yet been announced.
