LWC Athletes earn Player of the Week honors

Lindsey Wilson College athletes earned Mid-South Conference Player of the Week honors in Football, Running, and Volleyball.

Dylan Beasley is the Mid-South Conference Football West Division Offensive Player of the Week, Nikki Coffey is the Mid-South Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week, and Makenzie Montano is the Mid-South Conference Volleyball Setter of the Week and teammate Caitlyn Tino is the MSC Defender of the Week.


Beasley collects MSC West Offensive Player of the Week honors
For the third time this season, Dylan Beasley is the Mid-South Conference Football West Division Offensive Player of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.

The junior quarterback was 18-of-30 with 313 passing yards and four touchdowns in the Blue Raiders' 41-27 victory over Cumberlands (Ky.).

He added 36 rushing yards as seventh-ranked Lindsey Wilson improved to 7-0 on the year, the best start in program history. Beasley is the only multiple-MSC West Offensive weekly award winner this year.

Beasley earns his third weekly conference honor of his career.

Coffey earns Mid-South Conference Runner of the Week honors
Nikki Coffey is the Mid-South Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.

The sophomore from Danville, Kentucky, posted a seventh-place finish in the field of 110 harriers at the Fast Cats Classic over the weekend.

She finished the 5k race in a time of 19 minutes and 14 seconds.

Lindsey Wilson finished third overall and was the top NAIA school at the event. Coffey earns her second weekly honor of the season and fourth of her career.

Montano and Tino earn MSC Volleyball Player of the Week honors
Makenzie Montano is the Mid-South Conference Volleyball Setter of the Week and teammate Caitlyn Tino is the MSC Defender of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.

The duo helped fifth-ranked Lindsey Wilson to a perfect 4-0 week, defeating three teams ranked in the top-15 of the NAIA Coaches' Poll.

Montano recorded 160 total assists across the four matches. Against No. 9 Grand View (Iowa), she posted 49 assists and capped off her double-double with 13 digs. Montano also recorded nine kills in the 3-2 victory. The junior from Louisville, Kentucky, compiled 40 digs, 28 kills and seven blocks during the week en route to being named the MVP at the Spartan Invitational hosted by Missouri Baptist (Mo.).

Tino racked up 65 digs throughout the week, averaging 4.06 digs per set. The junior libero also had three service aces, posting 20 digs in Lindsey Wilson's 3-2 win over No. 8 Georgetown (Ky.).

The Blue Raiders improved to 19-1 on the year and 7-1 in MSC play.

Tino earns her first player of the week this season and third of her career while Montano picks up her second weekly honor of the season and 10th of her career.
