KSP Post 15 activity for September, 2016

Columbia, KY - During the month of September 2016, there were 20 traffic accidents investigated by the State Police working in the Post 15 area in the 11 counties of Adair, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, Marion, Metcalfe, Monroe, Russell, Taylor and Washington. There were five fatal collisions during the month of September in the Post 15 area:
  • Alicia Thurmond, 31 years of age of Metcalfe Co KY was killed on 09/08/16 in Metcalfe Co KY
  • Khristopher Thompson, 17 years of age of Green Co KY was killed on 09/14/16 in Green Co KY
  • Brittany Taylor, 18 years of age of Green Co KY was killed on 09/19/16 in Taylor Co KY
  • William Morris, 46 years of age of Metcalfe Co KY was killed on 09/21/16 in Metcalfe Co KY
  • Logan Hudson, 19 years of age of Russell Springs KY was killed on 09/26/16 in Russell Co KY
This brings our yearly fatality count to 26 compared with 27 through this same period in 2015. Statewide fatality count stands at 579 compared with 542 through this same period in 2015.

During the month of September 2016, there were 884 citations written, 133 courtesy notices written, 1332 vehicles inspected, 626 complaints answered, 71 motorists assisted, 52 criminal cases opened and 151 criminal arrests made.
