LWC Men's Golf wins Blue Raider Classic

Rasmus Lind and Alex Durham joined Federico Navarro on the All-Tournament Team. Lind fired a day-two 68 to finish at 2-under 140 and in a tie for third. Durham finished alone in fifth at even-par 142 (70-72).

The No. 23-ranked Lindsey Wilson men's golf team shot a tournament-low round 279 to overtake Indiana Wesleyan and claim the team championship at the Blue Raider Classic at The Pines at Lindsey Wilson.

The Blue Raiders entered Tuesday four shots behind Indiana Wesleyan but shot 5-under par 279 to win the tournament by five strokes with a two-day total 566 (287-279).


The Wildcats took a step backward on Tuesday, shooting 4-over 288 for a two-day total 571 (283-288) and claiming team runner-up honors.

Federico Navarro shot a tournament-low 6-under 65 on Tuesday for a two-day total 136 (71-65), which put the senior into a tie atop the leaderboard with Indiana Wesleyan's Jake Coffey.

Navarro birdied the first playoff hole - the par-5 first hole -- after sticking a bunker shot within four feet to claim medalist honors. The Hernandarius, Paraguay, native birdied his last three holes of the day - including the playoff hole -- and completed Tuesday's play with eight total birdies.

Two Blue Raider golfers - Rasmus Lind and Alex Durham - joined Federico Navarro on the All-Tournament Team. Lind fired a day-two 68 to finish at 2-under 140 and in a tie for third. Durham finished alone in fifth at even-par 142 (70-72).

Lind and Navarro shot 7-under on par-5s over the two days to lead the field. Durham recorded one eagle and eight birdies over two rounds.

Ryan Nowe and Frederik Willer completed the Blue Raiders' five. Nowe finished tied for 18th at 6-over 148. Willer shot 8-over 79 on both days to finish in 54th.

Clayton Bradshaw led the eight Lindsey Wilson individuals with a tie for 10th place. The senior finished three strokes over par at 145 (71-74).

Steve McGowan tied for 16th at 5-over 147 (71-76). Kellen Wilson (76-74) and Cody Mingus (74-76) ended in a four-way tie for 26th at 8-over 150.

Cameron Claunch shot 11-over 153 (79-74) and placed in a tie for 35th. Tanner Garmon finished in 46th at 14-over 156. Scot Kirby and Connor True placed 58th and 61st, respectively.
