COLUMBIA, KT. - The Lindsey Wilson football team moved up one spot to No. 6 in the latest NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Poll, the national office announced on Monday, October 10, 2016.

The ascension in the rankings comes two days after the Blue Raiders defeated Cumberlands (KY) 41-27 to move to 7-0 in 2016, the best start to a season in program history.

With the score tied 20-20 at halftime, Lindsey Wilson outscored the host Patriots 21-7 over the final two quarters of play to remain unbeaten on the year. Dylan Beasley tossed four touchdown passes while Jalen Sublett rushed for over 100 yards for the second game in a row.

Defending national champion Marian (IN) continues to reign as the No. 1 team with 340 points and all 15 first-place votes. Baker (KS) is No. 2 with 327 points and fellow Mid-South Conference West Division member Reinhardt (GA) moves up to No. 3 with 303 points. Saint Francis (IN) is No. 4 and Morningside (Iowa) rounds out the top five.

Also from the MSC West, Bethel (TN) is No. 18 with 119 points and a 6-0 record.
