By Anthony Latessa The No. 7-ranked Lindsey Wilson football travels to Cumberlands (KY) on Saturday, October 8, 2016 for a 6pmCT kickoff at James H. Taylor II Stadium. The Patriots are the fifth-straight MSC East Division opponent for the Blue Raiders. Lindsey Wilson (6-0) defeated Union (Ky.) last week 53-17 on Homecoming, setting program records for rushing yards with 410 and 657 total offensive yards. Jalen Sublett led the Blue Raider ground game with a program-record 194 yards and three touchdowns. Blake Ingleton ran for 148 yards and two touchdowns. Dylan Beasley was 20-35 for 247 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. Lindsey Wilson's defense forced a season-high four turnovers, all of them being interceptions. Jalon Kemp, Marquez Gamble, Holt Keeling and Jay Washington each recorded an interception. The Blue Raider defense recorded a second half shutout. Trent Mueller led the defense with nine tackles and 1-1/2 tackles for loss. The Blue Raiders have scored 344 points this season, the most by any college football team at any level. Lindsey Wilson comes into Saturday's game in the top-10 in the NAIA in three offensive categories. The Blue Raiders are averaging 57.3 points per game which is good for second, 529 yards per game which is good for sixth, and 309 passing yards per game which ranks seventh. Beasley's 276.8 passing yards per game is 11th-best in the NAIA. Cumberlands' (2-3) last game was Sept. 24, a 49-45 loss to Union. Austin Hatfield led the Patriots with three rushing touchdowns. Cumberlands had 487 yards of offense. Heading into Saturday's game the Patriots are averaging 285.2 rushing yards per game, good for sixth in the NAIA. Saturday's matchup is the fifth all-time meeting between the two schools. The series is tied at two. Lindsey Wilson has won the last two matchups, both have been at home. This is the first matchup in Williamsburg since 2013 where the Blue Raiders lost 52-45.
