Campbellsville ISD ranks in top state academic ratings CIS now Distinguished District. Test scores place Campbellsville High School in Top 8 percent of High Schools in Kentucky Click on headline for complete story By Calen McKinney For the first time, Campbellsville Independent Schools is a Distinguished school district. And, based on students' state test scores, Campbellsville elementary and high schools are now Schools of Distinction - which is the highest label the Kentucky Department of Education can give a public school. As a whole, based on scores from the 2015-2016 school year, Campbellsville Independent Schools is now a "Distinguished/Progressing" district. And, CIS is also classified as a "High Performing District." CIS students showed impressive gains in test scores from the 2015-2016 school year, which place CHS in the Top 8 percent of high schools in Kentucky and see CES students scoring high enough to beat about 600 other elementary schools. Results from the state's testing system were released on Thursday, Sept. 29. According to the results, all of Campbellsville Independent Schools' students are doing very well in the classroom, with the majority coming in at above state averages. When compared to other high schools in Kentucky, CHS now ranks as the 19th school out of the 288 high schools in Kentucky, and at third in the region, above many several surrounding schools. Also, CES is now ranked as 130th in the state of the more than 700 elementary schools in Kentucky. Last year, CES was ranked at 591st. And, this is the first time CES and CHS have received the School of Distinction titles. Last year, CHS was a "Distinguished" school for the first time, and has continued the trend of performing well above state average. This story was posted on 2016-10-02 06:17:49
