LWC Women's Soccer over Cumberlands, 1-0

Williamsburg, KY - The No. 6-ranked Lindsey Wilson women's soccer team defeated Cumberlands (KY), 1-0, on the road Friday night.

Emelie Liljered scored the match's lone goal in the 21st minute. Savanah Simpson played a ball into the 18-yard box, which Liljered headed in.

The Blue Raiders (6-3, 3-0 Mid-South Conference) outshot the Patriots (7-6, 1-2 MSC) 17-9, including an 8-5 edge in shots on goal. Annika Koemm and Liljered led Lindsey Wilson with three shots on goal apiece.


Johanna Henriksson stopped five shots to earn her second-consecutive shutout and the 29th in her career. Henriksson is now in a tie with Debbie McGuinness for the second-most clean sheets in program history.

The Blue Raiders have blanked three-straight opponents and have not conceded a goal in 313 game minutes.

The victory is the Blue Raiders' 23rd-straight against Cumberlands.
