Francis Brooks (BD) Davis, Jr., 62, Cumberland County, KY (1953-2016)

He was the owner of Breeding Country Mart, Breeding, KY where he made many, many frieds. He was a native of Mt. Sterling, KY, and a long time resident of Miamisburg, Ohio, where his final resting place will be.

The world lost a loving, talented, and kind gentleman on Tuesday, September 20, 2016. Brooks was surrounded by family and visited by close friends as he gracefully gained his place in Heaven. He was under the care of TriStar Greenville Regional Hospital, Bowling Green, KY and was battling a severe lung cancer diagnosis.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 10amCT/11amET, at Gebhart-Schmidt-Parramore Funeral Home, 508 E Linden Ave, Miamisburg, OH with Pastor Michael Hout officiating. Burial will be in The Highland Memorial Cemetery, Miamisburg.

Brooks was born on Tuesday, December 8, 1953 in Mt. Sterling, Montgomery County, KY. He was the son of the late Francis Brooks, Sr. and Lucy Katherine (McFarland) Davis Bow. He died Tuesday, September 20, 2016, in Bowling Green, Warren County, KY, at the age of 62 years, nine months, and 12 days.

In addition to his parents, he was welcomed in Heaven by a brother-in-law, Leeroy Milligan and numerous friends.

He will forever be loved by his wife, Irma Faye (Davis) Davis, his daughter, Abby Lynn Davis, step-children, JR (Christina) Witt, Charlie (Annie) Witt, and Brian Witt; step-grandchildren, Katilyn, Aidan, and Carson, sisters, Bonnie Milligan and Bertie (Wayne) Caudill, and brothers, William "Bill" (Gwen) Davis and Tony (Linda) Davis.

Brooks was a wonderful uncle to 5 nieces and 2 nephews, Christy Jones, Debbi Back, Kelly Evans, Natalie Davis, Ashley Fourman, Jenny Davis, Michael Davis and Ben Davis, five great-nephews, one great-great-nephew, on great-great-niece, and his little buddy, Lilly, as well as extended family and numerous friends.

Brooks attended Miamisburg High School and served in the United States Army completing a tour in Europe and playing basketball for a unit team. When he returned home from the service, he became a licensed realtor working for multiple agencies and eventually establishing his own, Preferred Choice Realty Inc. in Miamisburg. He was a successful salesman for AL-KO Axis in Elkhart, Indiana and an entrepreneur as owner of Direct Source, a nuts and bolts company in Miamisburg. Sales allowed Brooks to travel eventually landing him back in his native KY as he had a deep love for the country life.

Brooks and Irma Faye eventually relocated in Burkesville, KY where they owned and operated Breeding Country Mart in Breeding, KY. Brooks was a good natured, hard-working and generous soul. He loved to make people laugh and went to great lengths to help children during his life.

Over the years he was a dedicated UK basketball fan, avid hunter, fisherman and golfer. He had attended St. Jacob Lutheran Church in Miamisburg and was a member of the Moose Lodge 1645 and formerly of the Eagles 2306.

His family and friends will forever carry his love with them as he was so greatly loved in return and his presence will forever be missed.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 and personal condolences may be forwarded to the family by visiting Brooks' online memorial at www.gebhartschmidtparramore.com. Norris-New Funeral Home, 601 N Main Street, Burkesville, KY was honored to be in charge of the local funeral arrangements.
