Lindsey Wilson soccer plays doubleheader on Friday evening By Anthony Latessa The Lindsey Wilson men's and women's soccer teams host a doubleheader at Walter S. Reuling Stadium, 151 Holloway Drive, Columbia, KY, beginning at 5pmCT on Friday, September 23, 2016. In the opening game, the women's team begins Mid-South Conference play against Life (GA). The men follow with a 7pmCT matchup against Rio Grande (Ohio) in what has been selected as the NAIA Network Men's Soccer Game of the Week. The No. 6-ranked Blue Raider women (3-3-0) are coming off a 3-1 victory against Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) on Sept. 16. Delfina Santellan, Yvonne Ploeg and Veronica Kurtz-Martinez each scored a goal in the game. First-year program Life (1-4) comes into Friday's games off a 3-2 overtime victory against LaGrange College (GA) on September 3. Josie Davis scored all three goals in the program's first-ever win. The No. 19-ranked Lindsey Wilson men (4-2-0) defeated Martin Methodist 3-0 on Sunday. It was the Blue Raiders third-straight win. Alvaro Cortazar recorded his second-straight shutout in goal. Dioulde Niane, Mutaya Mwape and Andrew Revanales all scored once in the victory. The No. 2-ranked and defending NAIA National Champion RedStorm (7-1-0) lost their last matchup 2-0 to Northwestern Ohio on Saturday. Pau Delgado Rodriguez leads the team in goals with six. This is the 17th meeting between Lindsey Wilson and Rio Grande. The Blue Raiders hold a 9-6-1 all-time series edge. Rio Grande won last year's matchup 3-1.
