Students have 'grand' time sharing their learning experience Principal's favorite activity of the year Click on headline for story with photo(s) By Wes Feese Media Relations, Adair County Schools Adair County Elementary School hosted its annual Granparents' Night last Thursday, with more than 240 people attending. Students demonstrated the skills they're learning and grandparents were able to see how much the educational atmosphere has changed since their elementary school days. "This is my favorite night of the year as far as activities," ACES Principal Steve Burton says. "It's great to see the smiling faces and the grandparents and grandchildren get together for this. It's a great opportunity for these kids to show off everything they've learned." The program - which was put on by Title I, the Family Resource Center, and Camp SAFARI -offered a wide range of activities, reading rooms, crafts, games, and prizes, and ice cream was served in the cafeteria. Students were excited to share their school with their grandparents. "There is nothing quite like the bond between a grandparent and grandchild and we can see the love on their faces at Grandparents' Night," ACES Family Resource Center coordinator Debbie Cowan says. "We always appreciate the support of our students' grandparents and invite them to visit ACES anytime. We know that they are a vital part to the growth and development of our young leaders."
