Click on headline for complete obituary Mr. Joseph Eugene "Gene" Poindexter of Fairdale, KY, a native of Cumberland County, KY, passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at The Norton's-Kosair Hospital in Louisville, KY, having attained the age of 83 years, 11 months and 23 days. Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at 1pmCT, in The Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home, 601 N Main Street, Burkesville, KY, with Bro. Gary Cash officiating. Burial will be in the Liberty Cemetery in Cumberland County, KY. The family will receive friends after 6pmCT, on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 until the funeral hour on Wednesday. Mr. Joseph Eugene (Gene) Poindexter, 83, Cumberland Co., KY (1932-2016) He was born on Sunday, September 11, 1932, in Cumberland County, KY, the son of Hunter and Addie (Shoopman) Poindexter. He died Saturday, September 3, 2016, in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY, at the age of 83 years, 11 months, and 23 days. He was a truck driver. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Larry Poindexter; a daughter-in-law, Linda Poindexter; and a son-in-law, Elmer Gossett. He is survived by his wife, Alma Louisa (Davis) Poindexter of Fairdale, KY, whom he wed on Wednesday, December 15, 1948, and the following:
