Blake Kennedy Aaron remembers his father Dr. Phil Aaron

Blake Kennedy Aaron spoke eloquently about Dr. Phil Aaron as a parent. He said, "My father was a public servant above all else, dedicating his time and love. He had so much compassion. Nearly every morning you'd find him at the funeral home for patients, might not have been his, might not have known them. You could reach him at night on his personal cell phone, he'd give it out to anyone who asked.

"He was part of many events and fundraisers, too many to count really. And if you were lucky, you'd see him at your own family reunion. He was a Christian who rededicated his life to the Lord.

"He was baptized as a child, but baptized a year ago at Taylor Regional Hospital. He loved his Sunday School class and he'd hate to miss it.

"Some of you have talked about how he truly was bigger than life, but most of all to me, he was a great Dad, taking me on trips all over the world, and having intellectual talks with me at a young age.

"He would pile up loads of me and my friends to go to UK games. He could be your best friend, but he could also shoot it straight with you and give the real advice you needed.

"Though my Father read many books in his life, he was illiterate in the use of technology -- he never had an email, he barely conformed to getting a flip phone, but we'd show him YouTube videos, and he found a favorite we'll show in a minute.

"Like the man in this video, he had little possessions, but like the man in the video, he shared his gift with everyone."
