Frank Dickerson: Barnetts Creek water pure, so cold it made teeth ache Frank Dickerson writes: For those of us who attended country schools, 'tiz a thousand wonders that more of us did not contract Polio! Thanks to the hardiness of our constitutions, perhaps. I will never forget the brackish water from the well at Knifley High. Urp! On the other hand, the water from the well at Barnett's Creek School was so pure and so cold that it made the teeth ache. It served not only the school but close neighbors as well. Lucky us!
