COLUMBIA, KY - The No. 23rd-ranked Lindsey Wilson men's soccer team dropped their season opener to 22nd-ranked Roosevelt (IL), 3-2, in overtime.

Andrew Revanales and Aleksi Pahkasalo each scored a goal for the Blue Raiders (0-1-0), while Brian Richards chipped in with a pair of assists against Roosevelt (2-0-0).

Revanales got things started for the Blue Raiders with a goal in the 20th minute assisted by Brian Richards. Roosevelt tied up the game in the 32nd minute with a goal by Leo Rodriguez and Alex Terrazas had the assist on the Laker goal.

Lindsey Wilson regained the lead with a goal from Pahkasalo in the 67th minute. Richards picked up his second assist of the game after crossing the ball to Pahkasalo from the right flank.

Roosevelt tied up the game for the second time with a penalty kick in the 90th minute after a handball in the box. Evan Trychta kicked it to the left side of the goal to get it past the goalkeeper.

Roosevelt had a chance to win the game in the 92nd minute, but the potential game-winning goal was disallowed after a foul in the box from the Lakers. Trychta scored his second goal on the night on a free kick from about 25 yards away from goal to clinch the victory for the Lakers in the 100th minute.
