Mr. James Raymond Hood of Milton, Kentucky, son of the late Ellis Hood and Alma Burton Hood, was born on February 7, 1942 in Green County, Kentucky, and departed this life on Friday, August 19, 2016 at his home.

The funeral services for Mr. James Raymond Hood will be conducted at 10amCT/11amET, Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at the Ransdell Funeral Home, 441 Highway 42 West, Bedford, K Bedford, Kentucky. Visitation is requested 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET, Tuesday, August 23, 2016 and 7am-10amCT/8am-11amET, Wednesday at Ransdell Funeral Home.

In Greensburg, there will be a graveside service held at 1pmCT, Thursday, August 25, 2016, at Bethlehem Cemetery, by Bethlehem Baptist Church, 526 Temperance Road, Greensburg, KY, with visitation 10am-12:30pmCT, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main Street, Greensburg, KY, prior to the graveside service.

Mr. James Raymond Hood of Milton, Trimble Co., KY, , was son of the late Ellis Hood and Alma Burton Hood. He was born on February 7, 1942 in Green County, KY, and departed this life on Friday, August 19, 2016 at his home in Milton. He was 74 years, six months, and 12 days of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Broadway Baptist Church in Louisville, KY, and was a graduate of Greensburg High School. He was retired from the Ford Assembly Plant and loved to fish and garden.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mildred Combs Hood of Milton, Kentucky, having united in marriage on April 1, 1962.

Other survivors include:
  • A son: James Ellis Hood of Milton

  • A sister: Mary Emma Morris of Elizabethtown, KY

  • Two grandchildren; James Norman Hood and Jessica Ann Hood

  • And a great-grandchild: Destiny Carrisa Hood.
Mr. Hood was also preceded in death by a son: Richard Raymond Hood; a grandson, James Norman Hood; and a brother, William Robert Hood.
