He was the son of the late Charles Edwin Merritt and Janie Catherine Herron Merritt Ferron. His wife, Wanda Merritt, survives. He leaves six direct living descendants.

Visitation 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET, Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KY.

Bobby Wayne Merritt, 69, of Campbellsville, KY, son of the late Charles Edwin Merritt and Janie Catherine Herron Merritt Ferron, was born June 5, 1947 in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died Sunday, August 21, 2016 in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 69 years, two months, and 16 days.

He was a former heavy equipment operator.

He united in marriage to Wanda Lou Little August 29, 1965.

Besides his wife, Wanda Merritt of Campbellsville, he is survived by:
  • One daughter and one son: Melissa Carter and husband, Timmy of Campbellsville, KY; and Kevin Merritt and wife, Christina of Columbus, IN

  • Four grandchildren: Zachary Carter and fiancee, Adrienna Wethington and Spencer Carter and girlfriend, Shelbi Lemmon of Campbellsville, KY; and Cianna Wright and Easton Wright of Columbus, IN

  • One sister-in-law: Mary Martha Merritt of Campbellsville, KY

  • One niece and many other relatives and friends
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Charles Ray Merritt August 25, 2006.
