LWC Women's Cross Country picked third in MSC

Mid-South Conference coaches picked Lindsey Wilson women's cross country to finish third in 2016, as the MSC Preseason Poll was released by the conference office on Tuesday.

The Blue Raiders earned 34 voting points, 15 fewer than favorite Shawnee State (Ohio). The Bears received 49 points and seven of eight first-place votes.


Shawnee State and Lindsey Wilson finished first and second in the 2015 Mid-South Conference Championship, which the Bears won with 18 points.

Also ahead of Lindsey Wilson in the poll was Cumberlands (Ky.) with 36 points and the remaining first-place vote.

Fourth was Life (Ga.) with 31 points. Campbellsville (Ky.) received 26 points, which slotted them fifth. Trailing the Tigers was Georgetown (Ky.) with 24 points.

Rounding out the poll was Cumberland (Tenn.) and Pikeville (Ky.) with 15 and nine points, respectively.

Coaches could not vote for their own team.
