Remembering Marilyn Owens & RSHS classmate, Lewis Owens Their beautiful romance spanned fifty-three years, two months, and one day Special to ColumbiaMagazine.com Marilyn Ann Owens, nee Hammond, was a member of the Russell Springs High class of 1949. Her "Senior Silhouette," written by classmate Lilly Meadows, stated in part, "The charming and striking senior of this week is Marilyn Ann Hammond. She has black hair [and has] great big shining eyes...and is only 18 years old. Marilyn is one of those happy, care-free girls who is always having fun. She especially likes a certain senior of '48 (her fiance, Lewis Owens), basketball, music and all sports. Her favorite colors are green and white (the colors of Russell Springs High)...Whatever you do Marilyn, we wish you much happiness always."
