Green Co. HS golf team wins own invitational tournament

News from Green County HS Golf Team

The Green County Girls Golf Team held it's annual invitational at Green County Country Club, on Friday, July 29, 2016, to open the season.



There were nine teams participating including Green County and 14 individuals. Green County came out winner with a score of 338.

Taking the win over Russell County and Sheldon Clark with both teams shooting a 368.

Russell County came out with the runner-up title by a score card playoff for the position against Sheldon Clark coming in with 3rd place team title. Gracie Parrott had an impressive front 9 with a 34(2 under par)struggling somewhat on the back 9 with a 40, but completing her round with a wonderful score of 74 -2 over par for the day.

Tied with Keista Elder from Elizabethtown, Gracie and Keista had to have a sudden death playoff on hole no. 1 to take the title. Gracie defeating Elder, winning the hole to finish the tournament with the 1st place title.

Gracie is the Granddaughter of 5th district magistrate, Billy Dean Coffey and daughter of Walt and Deana Parrott of Greensburg.

Gracie is the Granddaughter of Adair County 5th district magistrate, Billy Dean Coffey, of Clay Ridge, and daughter of Walt and Deana Parrott of Greensburg.
