Saddened that the old AC Fairgrounds are going away Ivan Overton writes: Just wanted to say that it saddens me that the AC Fairgrounds are going away. I have many fond memories of this place. I used to walk from our home on Glenmary Street, in the mid to late sixties, many times for Little League games, swimming at the pool, or going to the Fair. I was allowed to go on my own, something you just couldn't do today at that age. Hard to believe that was 50 years ago now. Hate to see it disappear.
