TOMPKINSVILLE, KY (Thu 21 Jul 2016) Kentucky State Police investigated a three vehicle injury collision involving a Commercial Motor Vehicle and two passenger vehicles on North Main Street inside of Tompkinsville today at 11:15amCT.

Preliminary investigations indicate that 55 year-old Remus Bowe of Tompkinsville was operating a 1995 Dodge van north on North Main Street. Bowe was stopped to make a left turn when 23 year-old Trevor Meadows of Celina, TN, who was operating 1995 Freightliner tractor trailer struck the rear of a 2003 Chevrolet pickup being operated by 55 year-old Robert Wiltford of Tompkinsville.

Wiltford was slowing for Bowe who did not see the tractor trailer approaching him and not stopping. Meadows could not stop his truck striking the rear of Wiltford's vehicle causing him to strike the rear of Bowe's vehicle in a chain reaction collision. All three men were wearing their seat belts at the time of the collision.

Wiltford was transported to the Monroe County hospital with non-life threatening injuries by the Monroe County EMS.

Senior Officer Jason Morris investigated the collision and was assisted on scene by Senior Officer Derek Cundiff, Tompkinsville Police, Monroe County Fire and EMS.
