Click on headline for complete story By Wes Feese Media Relations, Adair County Schools Representatives from the WHAS Crusade for Children presented the Adair County School District with a $30,000 check Tuesday, July 19, 2016, at a luncheon on the campus of Lindsey Wilson College. The funds come from monies raised throughout the year in Adair County for the Crusade, mostly through donations collected by local fire department roadblocks. On hand for Tuesday’s presentation were Crusade CEO Dawn Lee, Crusade director/producer Larry Ledford, Crusade board members Pam Stephens and John Walling, and representatives from various school districts and other agencies across south central Kentucky. Federal Programs Director Steve Turner, Title I Director John Shelley, and Special Education Director Anita Goode accepted the check on behalf of the Adair School District. Goode said the money will be used to fund a Positive Approach to Student Success (PASS) teacher to serve Adair County students. PASS aims to help exceptional students remain in standard classrooms by providing additional, one-on-one direction during class time. Including the $30,000 given to Adair County, almost $223,000 was dispersed during Tuesday’s program. This story was posted on 2016-07-20 04:12:21
