Washington County fatal collision Tues 12 July 2016

SPRINGFIELD, KY (12 JUL 2016) - Tpr. John Boyd is investigating a collision that occurred on Monday, July 11, 2016 at approximately 8:39pmET, 15 miles north of Springfield, KY, at the intersection of KY 1754 and KY 555.

42-year-old Holly Horton, of Harrodsburg KY, was operating a westbound 2003 Hyundai on KY 1754. Ms. Horton failed to stop at the intersection and pulled into the path of a northbound 2013 Nissan operated by 42-year-old Christopher Mattingly, of Shelbyville KY. Mattingly's vehicle collided with the rear driver side of the Hyundai.



Holly Horton was not wearing a seatbelt and was airlifted to UK Medical Center in Lexington where she is listed in stable condition.

A passenger, 15-year-old Makenzie Horton, of Harrodsburg KY, was belted and not injured.

Another passenger, 16-year-old Ople White, of Willisburg, KY, was not belted and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Washington County Coroner.

Mattingly was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured. Tpr. Boyd was assisted at the scene by the Washington County Sheriff's Office, Washington County EMS and the Willisburg fire Department.]
