Charles Lucas, 90, Middleburg, KY (1926-2016)

He was a WWII U.S. Army Veteran and will be accorded full military rites by the Casey County Honor Guard at committal rites at Middleburg Cemetery. He was a lifelong farmer and former employee of Watson's Gate Co. He attended Union College and was a lifelong member of Middleburg Baptist Church. He was the son of the late Herman Francis & Zella Mae Lucas. His wife of 60 years, Dollie Evans Lucas, survives. He leaves 12 direct living descendants

U.S. Veteran, Charles Lucas, 90 of Middleburg, passed away Friday July 1, 2016 in Danville, KY.

Funeral Services will be held 10amCT/11amET, Monday, July 4, 2016 at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel, 142 KY Hwy 49, Liberty, KY with Bro Keith Bowling officiating. Burial will follow in the Middleburg Cemetery with Military Honors by the Casey County Veterans Honor Guard. Visitation will be held 5pm-8pmCT/6pm-9pmET, Sunday July 3, 2016, at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel in Liberty.



Charles Lucas, 90, Middleburg, KY (1926-2016)


Born January 8, 1926, he was the son of Herman Francis and Zella Mae Lucas. He died Friday, July 1, 2016, in Danville, Boyle County, KY, at the age of 90 years, five months, and 23 days.

He was a WWII U.S. Army Veteran. He was a lifelong farmer and former employee of Watson's Gate Co. He attended Union College and was a lifelong member of Middleburg Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years Dollie Evans Lucas, and the following:
  • Two sons: Curtis and (Patty) Lucas and Kenneth and (Kathy) Lucas all of Middleburg, KY

  • One daughter: Mary Ann and (Mark) Durham of New Salem, KY

  • One sister: Madelle Lucas Stafford of Danville, KY

  • Seven grandchildren

  • Two great grandchildren

  • and many nieces and nephews
