Adair School Board may resolve school bus garage issues today

Matter of Move-in Date, penalties assessed against Project Manager may be resolved in this morning's meeting

The Adair County School Board table a Consent Item to "Approve Pay Application No. 9 to Branscum Construction Company" at its regular 3rd Thursday meeting, July 16, 2016, but that item may be resolved this morning, in a special called meeting set for 8amCT in the Board Conference Room at the Central Office, 1204 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY.

Only two items are on the Agenda this morning:
  1. DISCUSSION INVOLVING COMPLETION OF THE NEW SCHOOL BUS GARAGE
  2. DISCUSSION/POSSIBLE APPROVAL OF PAY APPLICATION #9 TO BRANSCUM CONSTRUCTION COMPANY
The meeting is open to the public, but public comment, unless requested by the board, is not permitted, and only these two items will be considered.

At the Thursday meeting

David Jones, Maintenance Supervisor for the District, reported that the District had received a written temporarary Certificate of Occupancy, but that there were still unaddressed punch list items, including installation of an oil dispensing unit and a water leak, caused by a valve leak, was yet to be resolved. He said that the architect, Gabe Jones, had been notified that the school bus garage move-in had been delayed until June 20 or 21, 2016.

School Board Member Terry Harvey reminded the Board that there was still a matter of penalties, earlier calculated to be around $50,000 and expected to be more, to be deducted from the Project Manager's (Branscum Construction of Russell County) final settlement.

That matter may be settled in today's meeting.
