CHS FCCLA members win awards at state meeting By Calen McKinney Campbellsville High School FCCLA members recently competed at the Kentucky Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America state meeting and brought home several awards. CHS seniors Abby Davis and Morgan Milby competed in the State STAR Events advocacy category with their project, "Safety First; Accidents Hurt!" They researched and advocated for tougher laws on ATV safety requirements for teens. The two also presented their project in the Campbellsville community. At the state meeting, Davis and Milby finished in third place and earned a silver medal. They each also received a $3,000 scholarship to Sullivan University. CHS junior Kyrsten Hill earned a bronze medal with her Recycle and Redesign project titled "Recycled Reflection." She created a marketable household item from recycled mirrors and spoons. She also researched and reported on the environmental effects of municipal solid waste and how we can help by recycling and reusing everyday products. CHS senior Bayli Dickens also attended the state meeting. While attending the meeting, the students participated in leadership development activities. CHS FCCLA members also recently attended the Region 14 FCCLA meeting at Lindsey Wilson College. CHS junior Kayla Floyd and senior Morgan Milby served as regional officers and helped conduct the meeting.
