The helicopters weren't a new event to us.

We live on Short Lane, Columbia, KY, right next to the airport.

Several years ago, they had another training exercise at the airport. The first time, Tony counted 11 of them taking off at once and there were more that took off after that.

I don't think there were as many this time. The helicopters sat on the airport runway a lot longer the first time.

They really rattled our windows that time. This time they were just noisy.

They were the great big helicopters. Both times they came in on a very dark night and the lights were off at the airport.

The only thing you can see are the lights on the helicopters when they take off. --Lorene Martens
