Lucian T. (Luke) Beard, 84, Knifley, Adair Co., KY (1931-2016) He was a native of Adair County, KY, a resident of the county at the time of his death, and his final resting place will be on Caldwell Ridge, Knifley, KY. He was a veteran of the Korean War. After returning from the war, he was a farmer until his retirement. He was a member of the Knifley Christian Church. (Luke) Beard will be held at 10amCT/11amET, Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at the Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home, 503 E Main Street, Campbellsville, KY, with Bro. Hugh Withers officiating. Burial will follow in the Caldwell Ridge Cemetery, 2705 Caldwell Ridge Road, Knifley, Kentucky. The family request visitation 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET, Tuesday, June 7, 2016, at the Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home. Lucian T. (Luke) Beard, 84, Knifley, KY (1931-2016) Lucian was born Thursday, June 25, 1931 in Adair County, KY. He was the son of the late John and Cora Mae Chelf Beard. He died Saturday, June 4, 2016, in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 84 years, 11 months, and 10 days. He was united in marriage to Beulah Dixon Beard who preceded him in death on May 25, 1988. After serving in the Korean War he returned home and pursued his farming career until his retirement. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Knifley Christian Church. Besides his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Deanna Mae Beard, sisters, Shelly Beard and Christine Bailey and brothers Russell, Pete and Carl Beard. He is survived by his current wife, Mamie L. Bloyd Beard, and the following:
