Elba Wolford, 89, Russell County., KY; Adair County, KY native (1926-2016)

He professed his faith in Christ and was a member of Faith Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a native of Adair County, KY, and a resident of Russell County, KY, at the time of his death. He was a member of an large, honored, family, the son of the late J.O. & maude Harmon Wolford. His wife of 56 years, Jeannette Bottom Wolford, survives. He leaves eight direct living descendants.

Elba Wolford, 89, of Russell Springs, KY, died Friday June 3, 2016 at the Summit Manor Nursing Home in Columbia, KY.

Funeral service for Elba Wolford will be 10amCT, Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Richie Curtis and Bro. Tom Wolford officiating. Visitation after 5pmCT, Tuesday, June 7, 2016. Interment will be in the Bethlehem Cemetery. Special music will be rendered by Erin Wolford. Pallbearers will be Terry Waddle, Richie Waddle, Chris Waddell Randall Wolford, Kevin Holt, and Dustin Shearer.

He was born Sunday, August 29, 1926 in Adair County, KY, to the late J.O. & Maude Harmon Wolford. He died Friday, June 3, 2016, in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 89 years, nine months, and five days.

He professed his faith in Christ and was a member of Faith Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Nola Goodin, Lois Wolford, Eva Waddell Phelps; and two brothers, Omar Wolford, Clyde Wolford.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jeanette Bottom Wolford, and the following:
  • One daughter: Teresa Wolford

  • Two sons: Joel (Connie) Wolford, and Eric (Susan) Wolford, all of Russell Springs, KY

  • Three grandchildren

  • Two great grandchildren
