Mrs. M. Cristella (Cricket) Allen, 82, Cumberland County, KY (1934-2016)

She was born May 20, 2016, in Cumberland County, KY and lived most of her adult life in New Castle, IN. She attended Foursquare Church for over 60 years. She loved shopping, canning, and cooking big dinners for her family and friends. Christella also enjoyed the country and all the farm animals. She cherished spending time with her family and friends, always giving them an extra hug and squeeze. Christella was an honored New Castle State Hospital employee for 22 years, as a QMA, she received certification for apprenticeship for mental health technician and behavior modifier. She was also a QMA at Raintree Square and extended her care giving skills by assisting with private duty.

Mrs. M. Christella "Cricket" Allen, New Castle, Indiana, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 20, 2016.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 10amCT/11amET, on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at the Sproles Family Funeral Home, 2400 S. Memorial Drive, New Castle, Indiana. Burial will be in the Mt. Summit Cemetery. Visitation will be 3pm-7pmCT/4pm-8pmET, May 24, 2016 at the funeral home.

Mrs. M. Christella "Cricket" Allen, New Castle, Indiana, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 20, 2016, having attained the age of 82 years, 2 months, and 22 days. She was born to John and Flora Martin on Wednesday, February 28, 1934 in Burkesville, Cumberland County, Kentucky.

She attended Foursquare Church for over 60 years. She loved shopping, canning, and cooking big dinners for her family and friends. Christella also enjoyed the country and all the farm animals. She cherished spending time with her family and friends, always giving them an extra hug and squeeze. Christella was an honored New Castle State Hospital employee for 22 years, as a QMA, she received certification for apprenticeship for mental health technician and behavior modifier. She was also a QMA at Raintree Square and extended her care giving skills by assisting with private duty.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Roy W. Allen, and the following:
  • Her daughter: Shelia Newland

  • Her son: Roy Eric Allen

  • Her sister: Jewell Sell

  • Her grandchildren: Angela Dubinger, Jennifer Denney, Katlynn Allen, and Kirstie (& Zach) Lee

  • Her great-grandchildren: Wyatt Denney and Lila Denney

  • And several cousins, nieces, nephews and countless friends.
