Donald (D.A.) Austin, Casey County, KY (1949-2016)

He was a car salesman and an artist of sign designing. "D.A." was known for his skill of hand painting signs and trucks. He loved pulling his truck at the local competitions. He was a member of the Liberty First Christian Church. He was a native of Boyle County, KY and a resident of Casey County at the time of his death. He was the son of the late L.L. Austin and Lela Imogene Russell Austin. His wife of 46 years, Linda Ellis Austin, survives. He leaves three direct living descendants.

Donald "D.A." Austin of Liberty, KY passed away Saturday, May 21, 2016 at the Casey County Hospital. He was 67.

Funeral services are at 12pmNoonCT/1pmET, Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY, with Bro. Phillip Patton officiating. "D.A." Austin will be laid to rest in Glenwood Cemetery. Visitation is 4pm-8pmCT/5pm-9pmET, Monday, May 23, 2016 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home will continue Tuesday from 7amCT/8amET,until funeral service.



Pallbearers are Gary Terry, Randy Dalton, Doug Johnson, Doug Ellis, David Grider, and Ronnie Tapscott.

Born March 26, 1949 in Boyle County, KY, he was the son of the late I.L. Austin and Lela Imogene Russell Austin. He dies Saturday, May 21, 2016, in Liberty, Casey County, KY, at theage of 67 years, one month, and 25 days.

He was a car salesman and an artist of sign designing. "D.A." was known for his skill of hand painting signs and trucks. He loved pulling his truck at the local competitions. He was a member of the Liberty First Christian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Ellis Austin, whom he married February 28, 1970 and the following:
  • A son: Jeff (and Tammy) Austin of Bowling Green, KY

  • Two grandchildren: Hailey Beth and Mackenzie Austin

  • A brother, Roger Austin of Liberty, KY

  • And many loving and caring friends
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Gideon Bibles or the American Cancer Society.
