He a member of the Main Street Church of God. He was born in Russell County, and was a resident of the county at the time of his death. He was the son of the late Marie West and the late Ed West. His wife, Maultie Jean West, survives. He leaves seven direct and six step living descendants

Getha West, 88, of Russell Springs, KY passed away Thursday May 19, 2016 at Fair Oaks Health System, Jamestown, KY.

Funeral services will be at 10amCT, Monday May 23, 2016 at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel, 391 East Steve Wariner Drive, Russell Springs, KY with Bro. Eddie Lainhart and Bro. Billy Dunbar officiating. Interment will be in the Bernard Cemetery, Stephen's Ridge Road, Russell Springs, KY. Visitation will be 5pm-8pmCT, Sunday May 22, 2016, at the funeral home.


Getha West, 88, Russell County, KY (1928-2016)


He was born Tuesday April 24, 1928 in Russell County, KY. He was the son of the late Marie Stevens West and the late Edd West. He died Thursday, May 19, 2016, in Jamestown, Russell County, KY, at the age of 88 years, 26 days.

He was a member of Main Street Church of God.

He is survived by his wife, Maultie Jean Williams West, Jamestown, KY, and the following:
  • One son: Jackie West, Russell Springs, KY

  • Two sisters: Shelia Walters, Russell Springs, KY; and Lucille Cemer, Russell Springs, KY

  • Three brothers: Phillip West, Frankton, IN; Amon West, Russell Springs, KY; and William West, Russell Springs, KY

  • Three grandchildren

  • Three great-grandchildren

  • One step-grandchild

  • One step-great-grandchild
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Larry D. West; a grandson, Jon West, and an infant sister, Mary Rose West; five other sisters, Ann (Wheat), Dorothy (Bernard), Lola (Rexroat), Lora (Harvey), and Zeona (Shephard); and two brothers, Arlo West and Londo West.
